The friendships are really really complex in the story. T.J., who is not a very good friend, told Stacey that he had better friends. He said "And they white, too!" Claude, Christopher-John's friend, was getting hurt near the end of the book. It was really terrible to read but it was a great work. The friendships were hard to deal with.

I understand the part of T.J. and Stacey. What I don't understand, is what Claude and Christopher John have to do with anything. I think you should've included what they had to do with a complex friendship.
