The most savage moment is definitely when Cassie gets her revenge on Lillian Jean. This is the most savage part because Cassie blackmails Lillian Jean. She also beats her up, even though Cassie is a few years younger.

The most savage moment is when Mr.Morrison moves the Wallace's truck out of the way. His face when he moves his truck was funny.Mr. Morrison was not playing around. He wants to protect his "family".

I think that David purposefully burning his cotton and land to save TJ and the bring the community is the most savage because it SAVES A LIFE. He is thinking long-term and is willing to make a sacrifice.

he most "Savage" moment was when Cassie got revenge on "Miz" Lillian jean. She was very patient with Lillian ,she would listen to her secrets and even call her "Miz Lillian Jean" which i guess was hard for her to say . But Cassie was very smart telling her if she told anybody she will let everyone in Jefferson Davis which is the school Lillian goes to know who Lilian's crush was which would humiliate her a lot . And of course Lillian deserves it for being a little brat and thinking she's way better than the others. and like mama says " white people may demand respect ,but what we give them is no respect but fear ." And Cassie showed that she isn't afraid of Lilian , and stood up to let lillian know she isn't going to let nobody turn her around .

i feel as if alot of you are wrong even though this is oppinion. the reason y is because david would risk his life others life and the life of the land to save t.j.. This shows he is savage cause he dont care he is care less.

Rather than a "savage" situation Ms.Donohue, I think of David setting his OWN cotton on fire as an act of heroism and sacrifice. Despite just barely making the next few payments with all of his cotton, losing some would be devastating. Therefore, rather than there be a possible chance of a death having to occur for the Nightriders to let go of the Avery's, David set a portion of his cotton on fire in order to distract them from the execution of the Avery family, and come together to save the land and keep the fire from moving towards town.

I completely agree, Lucas. I think we need to redefine the popular term "savage" from meaning reckless and ridiculous, and instead have the word mean heroic and sacrificial!
