Racism before ROT was a problem. Segregation was also a very big problem. They would treat different colored people poorly. They still believed that they are slaves and didn't need respect. Racism also had to do with different colored people. Racism can also be known as bad judgment. An example of racism in ROT was when Cassie ,Stacey and T.J. all went down to the store. They were waiting in line and a white woman cuts in front of them. This shows that she doesn't care about three little kids and even more so that they are three little black kids. When they finally get to the front the man behind the counter does not pay any attention to them because they're black. Meanwhile another white woman comes and the man attends her and not the kids that have been waiting the whole time. This shows a big way racism was back then. But today we all treat people the same. Everyone has their own rights and equality. We should treat people the same no matter what race they are, and no matter what skin color they are. We are all similar but at the same time different in our own ways.

You have many good points in your statement but what about today´s world? There are still small and subtle ways at racism and groups like the KKK still exist today, they just aren´t as popular. Also, at the store, the woman doesn´t disrespect them but she merely thinks they are not worthy of attention and has a certain mindset; she doesn´t think it´s disrespect. You do make many good points in you statement, I just wanted to point out a few things.
