I show the most respect for papa because when the family is in trouble I see that papa always has a way to fix it. Papa is always finding a way out of a problem. He looks at what choices there are and if he doesn't like any of them he makes one up. For an example when papa saw that he had to use a shotgun mama said that their could be another way papa didn't really have a choice. Then at the end it tells me that papa made a different choice. He set the cotton on fire so that everyone would go and try to stop the fire before it got to the trees. If it got to the trees then the fire would spread to strawberry. If it got there they wouldn't be able to stop it at all.
